Liturgy of the Word for Children
On select Sundays throughout the year, the parish children (ages 4-9) are called forward to hear the readings of the day. The children leave the general assembly for a separate celebration of the Word. The celebrations of these liturgies are intended to form children in the liturgical language of the Church, to nourish and guide their spiritual growth, and to immerse them in the word of God in ways that are understandable to them. Holy Days of Obligation - Defined
January 1 - Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God
The feast is a celebration of the motherhood of Mary both divine and virginal. The title, “Mother of God,” is a western derivation from the Greek, “theotokos,” literally translated God-bearer.
40 days after Easter - Ascension of Christ
The Ascension of Christ commemorates the bodily Ascension of Jesus into Heaven. In March 2000, the Catholic bishops of the Wisconsin province transferred the Feast of the Ascension to the seventh Sunday of Easter, one week before Pentecost Sunday. The Vatican, at the request of the bishops of the United States, granted permission for the date change, giving ecclesiastical provinces in the United States the authority to make the transfer. Observing the Ascension on the seventh Sunday of Easter allows for heightened celebration and an increased opportunity to educate people about the meaning of the feast.
August 15 - Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
The Assumption of the Blessed Mother pays homage to the Assumption of the body and soul of Mary into heaven at the time of her death.
November 1 - All Saints' Day
All Saint's Day honors all saints, known and unknown.
December 8 - Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin
This feast day celebrates the belief that God preserved Mary from any inclination to sin, the inheritance of original sin passed on to all mankind from Adam and Eve. Many Catholics believe this Feast celebrates Jesus’ conception. Rather, it is honoring Mary conceived in the womb of her mother Anne.
December 25 - The Nativity of the Lord (Christmas)
Celebrating the birth of Jesus. The word Christmas is derived from Middle English Christe Masse and from Old English Cristes mæsse. It is a contraction meaning "Christ's Mass".

Mass Intentions
You can arrange to have a Mass offered for the intention of a loved one. Requests may be made by calling Joan at our parish office at (920) 457-9408, or by stopping in. Our calendar fills up rather quickly. The earlier you make your request, the better we will be able to meet your needs. Please note that there is a minimum of $10 donation for each Mass. (top)
