Stewardship

Stewardship is not just about sharing our financial treasure, but sharing our gifts of time and talents, as well. When we recognize that ALL we possess is a gift from God – our abilities, our talents, our material possessions – then we realize that sharing the first portion of all those blessings is the way of life Stewardship (Christ) calls us to. Often we seem to look at what God has not given us and say we have to cut back. Whereas we should be praising God for ALL God has blessed us with and in sacrificial faith return to God through the mission of the Church/parish so God’s work may increase. We cannot have worship, programs and buildings without money.

Attitude of Gratitude

Stewardship is a way of life-safeguarding and using wisely and justly our human and financial resources. It is the acknowledgment that all we possess are gifts from God, who loves us more than we can understand or know. We are all called to: receive God's gifts gratefully, cultivate them responsibly, share them lovingly with others, and return them with increase to God. Stewardship is an "Attitude of Gratitude".

Giving Back to God

Stewardship is the tangible, visible result of our desire to give back to the ONE who has given us all we have and are. Stewardship is a conversion of the heart. Stewardship is answering the call to discipleship by serving God best, through our service to each other. The characteristics of a parish that embraces Stewardship as a way of life are prayerful, welcoming, hospitable, inclusive, vibrant, grateful and visionary.

When we embrace Stewardship as a way of life, we are really taking hold of our baptism and being of service to and for one another.
