Youth Ministries
The goals are to empower teens to live as Disciples of Christ, draw them into active participation of their faith community and to foster their personal spiritual growth. There are eight components of Youth Ministry that are focused on to accomplish the goals of good youth ministry. They are advocacy, catechesis, community life, evangelization, justice and service, leadership development, pastoral care, and very importantly, prayer and worship. All High School faith formation classes are held at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius Rectory at 822 New Jersey Ave. The youth of St. Peter Claver are part of the south side tri-parish youth ministry. Each grade level classes are held in 9-10 week pods with the 9th graders beginning classes in early fall. Class times are 7:00 – 8:30 pm. All families are notified of starting dates of classes.
